Surrender

Fighting so hard to keep afloat.
Fighting to keep the poker face. 
The way of the world or the way to your heart. 
Still fighting. 
Blood stained cheeks forces a smile
and a weeping heart struggles to beat. 
The promise. 
Empty promise?
I created the storm now the mud won't leave me. 
I created my heartbreak. 
Now, uncertainty looms in the distance. 
The distance I'm afraid to reach. 
The distance I want to reach. 
Still fighting. 
Until the sunshine conquers the darkness and I find hope. 
Hope. 
Hope restored. 
Faith in love. 
I can breathe. 
I can surrender.
